This week, we visited the Ružín water reservoir near Košice, where we met with two important partners: PET Kupa — a civil initiative from Hungary focused on cleaning plastics from water, and VÚVH — the Water Research Institute from Slovakia.

Together, we discussed the serious problem of pollution in stagnant and dead arms of water bodies. On site, we helped manually collect waste in one of Ružín’s dead arms, where plastics and other floating debris have long accumulated.

At the same time, we had the opportunity to observe experts from VÚVH during professional water sampling, which is essential for assessing the ecological state of the reservoir and water quality.

Cooperation with such initiatives is key for us. We believe that together we can contribute to a cleaner and healthier aquatic ecosystem.
